Yes! Elon Musk’s new internet service called Starlink has received more than 5 lac pre-orders. This news was announced by Elon Musk while he was replying to Michael Sheetz on Twitter, who is a space reporter at CNBC. Starlink has achieved this milestone without any kinds of demand issues. However, according to Elon Musk, one challenge that Starlink may face in the future is the high density of users, especially in urban areas.
Only limitation is high density of users in urban areas. Most likely, all of the initial 500k will receive service. More of a challenge when we get into the several million user range.

The Starlink internet service works best for rural areas where there isn’t much density of users. Elon also said that they will face a more challenging situation when the number of users will increase to several million. Elon Musk has to deploy a total of 12 thousand satellites and it will cost him around 10 Billion Dollars.
About 4-5 months ago, it was being said that Starlink’s Internet Service will be launched by the end of 2020. However, looking at the current situation, it doesn’t seem feasible. And we will be eventually able to see the Startlink’s Launch in 2021. Elon Musk isn’t the only one in this space race. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has also launched a number of different satellites in space till now.
Recently, SpaceX accepted that the satellites launched by Jeff Bezos may create problems for Starlink’s satellites. However, the achievement of this half-a-million user milestone is a big thing for SpaceX and Elon Musk despite such challenging situations.
